Rahab & the Two Spies of Joshua - Lesson 1

After Moses’ death, God raised up Joshua to lead the Israelites into the land of their inheritance. The great, walled up city of Jericho stood in their way, so Joshua prepared for battle. He sent two spies into the city. But the king learned of their presence, and under threat of death, the two spies took refuge in the house of Rahab, the harlot. She buried the two spies under stalks of linen flax to hide them from the king’s soldiers. Then, when the soldiers had left, she told the spies to flee to the hills and remain there for three days. After three days had passed, the two spies returned to the Israelite camp alive, having been delivered from death! Find out how the exciting story of these two spies anticipated the even more wonderful story of Jesus’ own deliverance from death on the third day!
